Small amount of yarn in the color(s) of your choice
3.5 hook (or same as your Dude body)Â
Needle to tuck tail
Optional: Magnet (you would need to have a magnet in your Dude’s hand).Â
Standard sword blade
CH 14 (or desired blade length), ss in 2nd ch from hook, SC 12 or to the end. You can f/o here if you want a thin blade or work up the other side of the blade, 12 sc (or one before end), ss, picot, ss into original ss. f/o
Short sword with pointed tip
Point tipped blade 3.5 mm In your preferred color, match with any of the three hilts, or use at the top of a short staff to make a naginata.Â
Ch 16, or desired blade length. SC 13, or 2 before the end. Inc in the last stitch before the end, ss in end stitch, picot, ss in end stitch, sc down to other end. f/oÂ
Dagger blade
Dagger blade, 3.5 mm  In your preferred color, match with any of the three hilts, or use at the top of a longer staff to make a spear.Â
- CH 8, or desired length. DC in 3rd ch from hook, DC, HDC x 2, SC, SS, f/o.

Cross guard Hilt
Basic cross guard hilt 3.5 mm, add to any blade style for a standard T-hilt cross guard. Change up the colors to change up whether it is “wood” or “leather” or “metal” or maybe even magical.Â
1 | ss attach at the base of your blade at either corner. Ch 3, or desired length of cross guard plus 1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across to other corner of blade (stitches vary based on width of blade 3 sc or 2 if dagger), ch 3 (or same as other side). turn |
2 | Sc in 2nd ch from hook and back across to the opposite side of the blade. turn |
3-6 | SC across the width of the blade for 4 rows or as many as desired |
Basket Hilt
Basic basket hilt 3.5 mm, add to any blade style for a standard basket hilt. Change up the colors to change up whether it is “wood” or “leather” or “metal” or maybe even magical.Â

 Join at the bottom corner of the blade, or you can simply continue if using the same color as the blade to make a metal hilt. Tilt the blade so it is flat with the point facing you.Â

Inc in each stitch of the blade (3 for the larger blades or 2 for the dagger blade), inc in the side of the blade, inc across the back of the blade, inc in the side of the blade. ss to join, or you can continue without ss but will have a visible bump at the end.Â

Ring hilt 3.5 mm, add to any blade style for a standard ring hilt. Change up the colors to change up whether it is “wood” or “leather” or “metal” or maybe even magical.Â
