Hatching-tide Fun in Final Fantasy XIV (and My Slightly Over-the-Top Decorations)

Every year, Final Fantasy XIV rolls around with one of my favorite seasonal events: Hatching-tide — and somehow, every year, I manage to get just a little more excited about it.

This year did not disappoint.

First off, we had a fun little mini-event where we got to run around cutting down plants with a scythe.
Was it chaotic? Yes.
Was it slightly ridiculous in the best way? Also yes.

There’s something about these seasonal events that just lets you lean into the silliness — and I am always here for that energy.

This year’s rewards included some absolutely delightful glamour glasses in a bunch of fun shapes — and you already know I had to try them all.

But the real winner?

The Spriggan glasses.

I immediately paired them with my Spriggan outfit from a past Hatching-tide event, and honestly… it felt like a full-circle moment. Tiny chaos creature energy achieved. Mission accomplished.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Hatching-tide without decorating the Free Company house.

This is where I really go all in.

I filled the space with:

  • Festive foods (because what’s a celebration without snacks?)

  • Bright, cheerful posters

  • A cute little hanging mobile

  • And just… all the cozy seasonal vibes

But let’s be honest.

The piece de resistance this year?

A giant floating bunny head.

Yes. Floating.
Yes. Slightly ridiculous.
Yes. Absolutely perfect.

It’s one of those decorations that makes you stop, laugh, and immediately know: this is a Hatching-tide house.

What I love most about Hatching-tide isn’t just the rewards (though… cute glasses help).
It’s the chance to play, decorate, experiment, and just enjoy creativity in a different way.

Whether I’m:

  • Styling a character

  • Decorating a house

  • Or laying out yarn in my Sherage

…it’s all the same kind of joy. Just creating something fun and a little magical.
