Behind the Scenes: Where Inspiration Begins

Ever wonder how a simple photo can spark a whole new design? For me, inspiration starts long before the yarn hits the hook — it begins with curiosity.

Sometimes it’s a striking hairstyle, a bold silhouette, or even the way light hits a strand of hair in a reference photo. I’ll scroll through collections of looks — braids, buns, curls, and styles that defy categories — and start to imagine how they could take shape in yarn form. What would that texture feel like? How could I translate that movement, that attitude, that spark into stitches?

My process isn’t about copying — it’s about capturing energy. I look for the personality in each photo and think, “How would this character move? What story does this hair tell?” That’s where the magic happens — when a visual idea transforms into something that feels alive.

It’s a blend of art, imagination, and a little technical puzzle-solving. I test shapes, experiment with stitches, and let the design evolve until it clicks. And when it finally does, it’s not just a hairstyle anymore — it’s a part of a character that’s completely unique.

So next time you see one of my designs, know this: every strand started with inspiration. Every twist, every curl, every little detail is a love letter to creativity — and to the freedom we all have to make something that’s truly our own.
