Crochet Staff Pattern
A Modular Fantasy Accessory for Little Dudes
Some characters don’t swing swords — they channel magic, wisdom, or raw chaos.
The Crochet Staff Pattern is a versatile, decorative accessory designed for handmade dolls and plush characters. On its own, it’s perfect for spellcasters, wanderers, and mystical types. When combined with the blade pieces from the Mix & Match Sword Pattern Set, it transforms into multiple fantasy-style accessories — all soft, lightweight, and fully customizable.
This pattern is all about flexibility, creativity, and character storytelling.

Materials
small amount of yarn in desired color in worsted weight or same as doll
- 3.5 mm hook or same hook as doll
Optional sword blade
Optional wire
- Optional magnet (Dude hand would need a magnet inside)
Pattern
- 6 Sc in a MR, or Ch 2 and 6 SC In 2nd ch from hook
- BLO 6 SC to create a base (or crochet in both loops for a rounded look)
- 6 SC for desired rows. You can go as tall as the doll (or taller) for a wizard staff, shorter for a weapon handle.
- Optional: wire to allow for bending and sturdiness.
- Optional: stuff, you can stuff with or without the wire or skip this step. If you don’t wire, I would recommend stuffing, but the staves pictured are wired without stuffing.
Finished dolls made using this pattern may be sold on a small scale.
The pattern itself may not be resold or redistributed.
